Ngwenya Mine and CODEC, Ezulwini, 17 October, 2024

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) conducted an inspection in loco for three (3) projects under the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade.

The PAC recently undertook a critical inspection in loco to assess the financial management and accountability of three significant projects under the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade. This inquiry is part of the PAC's mandate to examine how government funds are allocated and utilized, ensuring transparency and efficiency in public spending. The site visits were led by the PAC Chairperson, Hon. Madala Mhlanga, Ministry officials and Auditors. The projects under scrutiny included the controversial acquisition of a farm in Ngwenya town, the sale of houses belonging to Ngwenya Mine, and a costly renovation project at CODEC in Ezulwini, each raising concerns about financial oversight and compliance. Through this inspection, the PAC aims to gain a deeper understanding of the audit queries surrounding these projects and uphold fiscal responsibility within government operations.
