Before the Senate was the adoption of Portfolio Committee Reports on the national budget, as Senators reviewed recommendations aimed at strengthening the country’s fiscal planning and ensuring that public resources are directed toward priority areas of socio-economic growth.
They touched on a range of topical issues, including the alleged divisions within Cabinet, the controversial Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Eswatini and Google, concerns surrounding the national budgeting process and also the issue of the Government Spokesperson, to name but a few.
The tabling of International Instruments by the Honourable Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Pholile Shakantu was amongst the highlights of the Sitting- which included the Agreement for the Establishment of the Africa Finance Corporation and the Agreement for the Establishment of the African Support Legal Facility.
