One participant asked, “Since the adoption of electing four women to Parliament, could the same be considered for persons with disabilities?” Another one had a concern about accessibility, asking, if the Parliament building could be made fully accessible for persons with disabilities. A young man with albinism requested that since they are also categorized as persons with disabilities could they also receive a social grant? Parents of children with disabilities also shared heartfelt recommendations, where a mother emphasized the need for improved health systems, stating that the health sector should establish a system that supports early detection of all forms of disability. She further recommended accessible therapy services, explaining that without support, many children internalize frustration and anger, which can cause self-endangerment. Lastly, a visually impaired gentleman urged  both Houses of Parliament to review and amend laws relating to disability, highlighting that the current system makes it difficult for persons with disabilities to access justice.
