Senators kick-started a two-day Artificial Intelligence (AI) Training Programme hosted by the Ministry of ICT in collaboration with the Royal Science and Technology Park (RSTP) at Emafini. The ongoing session is devoted to creating awareness about the game-changing impact of AI on governance and development. It also has introduced Senators to generative AI tools which can create content from data through hands-on demonstrations of applying the tools in supporting the drafting and summarizing of policy briefs, policy modelling, language translation, public engagement, and parliamentary committee support work. The workshop was officially opened by Acting Minister for ICT Hon. Sikhumbuzo Dlamini. The Minister emphasized that the training marks a significant step in Eswatini’s shift towards a knowledge-based and technology-driven future. He stated that embracing AI will help the country in harnessing emerging technologies for national development and to keep pace with global innovation. The workshop is in support of the "Government in Your Hand\" initiative.
